La Puya Raimondi
La Puya Raimondi
This series is from the Bosque de Puma Raimondi conservation park in the Peruvian Andes—one of only two places in the world (the other is Bolivia) where this plant exists. The Puma Raimondi belongs to the bromeliad family (same as the pineapple) growing up to 12 meters tall with spiky leaves as long as two meters. Amazingly, their lifespan can last over a century.
