Kampala Cycling Club

In 2019 I spent a month cycling and photographing around Uganda, starting in the city of Kampala. I was fortunate to spend some time with the Kampala Cycling Club—started by Yusufu Mbaziira in 2006 in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods. Yusufu, along with female coach Marion Rayebale, teaches kids and young adults not only bike skills and training discipline but also the importance of setting goals. Kampala Cycling has evolved into more than a cycling club—it also offers bike tours, a courier service, and a bike repair workshop.
